Amendments

Note: This table of contents has not been amended by subsequent amendments to the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 and therefore this section is set forth as it was originally enacted by Public Law 99-177. Amendments made to BBEDCA have been reflected in the table of contents which is set forth in section 250(a) of that Act.

Therefore, additional sections added to BBEDCA, such as sections 250, 251A, 258, 258A, 258B, and 258C are not shown here, but are reflected in the section 250(a) table of contents.

Example: Section 302(b) of the Budget Control Act of 2011 made a conforming amendment to section 250 because it added a new section 251A to BBEDCA, but made no corresponding amendment to the table of contents set forth in section 200 of BBEDCA:

(b) Conforming Amendment.—The table of contents set forth in section 250(a) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 251 the following:

‘‘Sec. 251A. Enforcement of budget goal.’’.
