101 (no source).

The section is included to avoid the necessity for defining “agency” each time it is used in the revised title.

Note: This section was placed in title 31 of the U.S. Code by Pub. L. 97-258, which reorganized title 31 generally. Though it has no formal short title, it’s long title is: “An Act To revise, codify, and enact without substantive change certain general and permanent laws, related to money and finance, as title 31, United States Code, ‘money and Finance’.”
