Note: The Act changed the method by which the sequestration occurs in the Medicare program occurs by changing the dates — this acts as a timing shift generating spending reductions in a fiscal year earlier than they otherwise would occur.
Also, Sec. 225 of the Act excludes its budgetary effects from the PAYGO scorecard under the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010 as well as from the Senate PAYGO scorecard.
