Biography

Robert Nicholas Giaimo (October 15, 1919 – May 24, 2006) was  elected as a Democrat from from Connecticut and served ten terms in Congress from January 3, 1959 through  January 3, 1981. After serving as Chairman in the Ninety-fifth and Ninety-sixth Congresses, he declined to seek reelection 1980. He was succeeded as Chairman of the House Budget Committee by Rep. James R. Jones (D-OK).
