Alice M. Rivlin

Dr. Alice Mitchell Rivlin was the first director of the Congressional Budget Office. She was appointed February 24, 1975 and served in that position until August 31, 1983. Subsequently, she served as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget from 1994 through 1996, as Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve (1996-1999), and has held various positions in government, policy organizations, and notably the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform established in February of 2010.
