Title 31 Revision and Codification of Law 1982
Public Law 97-258
Pub. L. 97-258, 96 Stat. 877, Sept. 13, 1982, Law Revising Title 31 Money and Finance Statutes
Long Title: To revise, codify, and enact without substantive change certain general and permanent laws, related to money and finance, as title 31, United States Code, “Money and Finance”.
Public Law 97-258 has no official short title and no commonly accepted short title. The term “Title 31 Revision and Codification Act of 1982” is a reference of convenience by the House Budget Counsel website to indicate its content without using the long title. The long title is extensive, and the Public Law number is not very helpful unless familiar with the material constituting the law.
