President’s Budget
The President’s Budget, required by law to be submitted to Congress, takes the form of four volumes: the Budget of the U.S. Government, Historical Tables, Analytical Perspectives, and the Appendix. In addition to these main four documents, Supplemental Materials are also transmitted to Congress and made public. Then in July of each year, and update to this budget is sent to Congress, commonly known as the the Mid-Session Review for a fiscal year.

Volumes of the President’s Budget Submission
The President’s Budget contains five major volumes:
(1) The Budget of the United States;
(2) Historical Tables;
(4) Appendix; and
These documents lay out the Administration’s projections of the fiscal outlook for the country, along with spending levels proposed for each of the federal government’s departments and programs. The Historical Tables volume provides significant amounts of budget data, much of which extends back to 1962 or earlier.
The Supplemental Materials include the Federal Credit Supplement, the Object Class Analysis, the Balances of Budget Authority, and the Public Budget Database.
Administration’s Fiscal Year Revenue Proposals
To accompany the Administration’s Budget, Treasury releases the “General Explanations of the Administration’s Revenue Proposals” (also known as the “Greenbook”), which provides an explanation of the Administration’s revenue proposals.
